Rotary District 6040, Raytown Rotary, ReDiscover Mental Health, and the Raytown School District worked together on a Mental Health Matters project.
The purpose of the project was to reduce the stigma surrounding youth accessing mental wellness services.  We purchased 5,000 green bracelets with Mental Health Matters, 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), the Rotary wheel and the mental health ribbon on each one.  Attached to each bracelet was a card outlining mental health services available to youth in the Raytown School District.  These include 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), and the location, hours phone number, and email address for ReDiscover’s Youth Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic.

Raytown Rotarians and members of the Interact Club at Raytown High School attached the cards to the bracelets.  This was a larger undertaking than we anticipated.  Bracelets were given to over 4,000 students at Raytown High School, Raytown South High School, Raytown Central Middle School, Raytown Middle School, Raytown South Middle School, Herndon Career Center, and Raytown Success Academy.  Attached are several photos involving this activity.
